Gambetta 7, a company based in Monterrey in Mexico, was the winning team against Petroleum Development of Oman in the 5v5 final that was held on 1 July 2018.

“This is an excellent way to finish off this very ambitious project,” said Albert Zbily, president of FIFCO, “we are witnessing history unfold itself with two distinct companies from two distinct countries competing under one banner.”

The World Corporate Champions Cup is the marquee event that FIFCO has designed and delivered to promote inter-company play and networking. This first event in Canada, drew 16 country participants from 4 continents.

“I believe we are on the right track to promote this organisation, but also to promote our sport,” said Waleed Obaidani, president of Sportmakers and representative of Oman.

Prior to the world tournament, FIFCO held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which hosted its members. The meeting produced much discussion on expansion and development in the Asia and Oceania regions. Members agreed to reconvene in one year time with some fixed goals on increased membership, renewed partnerships and a yearly edition of the a worldwide tournament.

Next host city to the World Corporate Champions Cup is not yet established, but three bidding cities have already submitted proposals. FIFCO will issue the next host city before September 2018.
